As a therapy service provider, one of our core values is being person-focused. We recognise that each of our clients is unique, and we strive to understand their experiences and perspectives in a compassionate and non-judgmental way. We understand that it can be difficult to share personal issues. That is why we create a safe and supportive space where our clients can feel heard, validated, and respected.

Our therapists are trained to listen actively and attentively to our clients, and to ask questions that help gain a deeper understanding of their concerns and challenges. We recognise that therapy is a collaborative process, and we work together with our clients to create personalised therapy goals that are tailored to their specific needs and goals. Whether our clients are seeking support for anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, interpersonal issues, or other mental health concerns, we are committed to providing them with the therapeutic support they need to overcome their challenges and improve their overall well-being.

Individual and Group Therapy

We provide individual and group therapy. Both of these can be effective forms of therapy and the choice between the two often depends on each individual's personal preferences and needs. Some people may prefer the intimacy and privacy of individual therapy, while others may find the group dynamic of group therapy more beneficial. In some cases, clients may benefit from a combination of individual and group therapy.

In individual therapy, also known as one-on-one therapy, the client meets with one of our therapists for private sessions. Some clients might prefer a third person such as a parent or support person to be present at the start of the therapy process. Sometimes having the extra person present can reduce the initial anxiety and feelings of overwhelm.

Group therapy, on the other hand, involves a group of clients meeting with one of our therapists to work on their individual goals. Group therapy can be a powerful and effective form of therapy as it allows individuals to share their experiences with others who are facing similar struggles. This can create a sense of community and support that can be beneficial in its own right. Group therapy may also allow individuals to gain new perspectives on their experiences and to receive feedback from others.

To book your appointment you can fill out the contact form or by giving us a phone call. Together we can work out what you would like to get out of your experience with The Art of Expression and which type of therapy would suit you best.


The first appointment at the Art of Expression is an assessment session. The assessment session will allow us to get to know each better and for you to decide if you feel comfortable with your therapist.


The number of counselling or art therapy sessions you will need varies from person to person. You may want to meet every week, fortnight or month. We can discuss your needs during the assessment session.
